I was recently at the Halton Region dump with my trailer getting rid of a bunch of yard waste. After I backed the trailer up to the pile of brush and started unloading, a guy came up to me and asked me how was I able to steer and control the trailer so well while backing up. Then he said "you must practice a lot." Well it doesn't take much practice. Next time you need to back up a trailer, try the following: Don't work with your mirrors, throw your right arm over the passenger seat and look over your right shoulder. Next, place your left hand at the BOTTOM of the sterring wheel (the 6 o'clock position). As you back up, when you want the trailer to go in a particular direction, move your hand in that direction. Steering from the bottom of the wheel is the trick. Try it, and impress anyone who is watching!
